What is ear wax micro suction?

Micro-suction is a safe and effective way of removing ear wax. The wax is vacuumed out of your ear canal by our doctor whilst viewing the area via a microscope. There is no water involved.

Why choose micro suction?

Micro suction is gentle on the ears. It is safer and less messy than traditional ear syringing with water. There is less risk of ear perforation and infection compared to ear syringing. Most patients will report an instant relief once the clogged up wax is removed.

Do I need to prepare before my appointment?

No specific preparation is required. However, if you use ear wax oil or waxsol or earclear for 1 or 2 days before your appointment, it can make the suction much easier to tolerate. 

How much does it cost?

Our fee for ear wax micro suction is $120. Your Medicare rebate is $39, resulting in an out of pocket cost of $80.
